Welcome to Smithson Valley Middle School, where we are committed to creating life-long learners and maximizing academic performance.
 
Our school is located in a rural-suburban setting and serves a diverse population of approximately 900 students. We offer a wide array of courses and levels to meet the needs of all learners, and our highly qualified teachers use various assessments to monitor student progress.
At Smithson Valley Middle School, we prioritize building relationships and providing individualized instruction in a safe, positive, and engaging environment. 
Our campus is supported by involved parents, a dedicated staff, and a strong PTA. We offer numerous programs, events, and extracurricular activities, encouraging students to build confidence, learn teamwork, and gain leadership roles.
Our school culture emphasizes excellence in academics and extracurricular activities, and we are proud to have a goal-focused, cohesive team of educators who engage with students to promote success in and out of the classroom.

Comal ISD is hosting its annual Dyslexia Awareness Night 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, in the boardroom at Comal ISD Support Services building in New Braunfels. Besides being a great opportunity to learn more about dyslexia, this year's winners of the Kids with HeART district art contest will be announced.

For the seventh consecutive year, the Comal ISD visual arts program was named a 2025 District of Distinction by the Texas Art Education Association.
