Welcome to 8th Grade ELA!

Hello! My name is Leah Carter, and I teach 8th grade English Language Arts at Smithson Valley Middle School. I graduated from Texas State University and have a strong passion for helping students grow as readers, writers, and lifelong learners.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy staying active by playing volleyball, solving challenging puzzles, and getting lost in a good book.

Class Supplies:
Please make sure your student comes to class with the following supplies:

• One composition notebook (college ruled preferred)

• A pocket folder

• Writing utensils (pens and/or pencils)

Class Communication & Assignments:

• All weekly assignments and class materials will be posted on Google Classroom.

• I will use Parent Square to communicate with families. This includes class updates and direct messages.
