Welcome to 8th Grade ELA!

Hello! My name is Brenda Taylor, and I teach 8th grade English Language Arts at Smithson Valley Middle School. I have a strong passion for for helping students grow as readers, writers, and lifelong learners. Outside the classroom, I enjoy staying active by walking, traveling with my family, and getting lost in a good book.

Class Supplies:

Please make sure your student comes to class with the following supplies:

One composition notebook (college ruled preferred)
A plastic pocket folder
Writing utensils (pens/pencils)

Class Communication & Assignments:

All weekly assignments and class materials will be posted on Google Classroom
I will use Parent Square to communicate with families. This includes class updates and direct messages.
