The Comal ISD Board of Trustees approved the district's 2025-2026 budget which included a three percent pay increase for teachers who do not qualify for the House Bill 2 allotment and all other staff members.

The Smithson Valley Rangers Baseball team led fans on a historic ride to the school's first state championship, ending the season as the 2025 UIL State 5A Division 1 Runner Up.

This year, 63 recent Comal ISD graduates have chosen a career in the military, with 51 enlistments, three ROTC scholarships and nine military academy appointments.

For the sixth year in a row, Comal ISD students are among those recognized by U.S. Representative Chip Roy's office for the Exceptional Senior Award which rewards high levels of character, leadership, integrity and diligence.

Among this year's 2,128 graduates are 300 honor students who completed their high school careers academically in the top 5 percent (Summa Cum Laude), 10 percent (Magna Cum Laude) or 15 percent (Cum Laude) of their class.

The final District Art Show of the school year featured artwork from 10 campuses in the Canyon Lake and Davenport communities with three pieces selected for the Superintendent's Excellence Award.

Today, Friday 8/15, campus offices will be closed in the afternoon for our District Opening of Schools Ceremony. During this time, there will be no staff on campus to operate phones.

The common denominator between this year's District Teachers of Year just happens to be math. Both the Elementary and Secondary District Teacher of the Year for Comal ISD have been teaching math for more than a decade and say they get their inspiration from their students.

Comal ISD honored 85 top ranking seniors along with an educator who played a special role in their journey during the 24th Annual Jan Heckendorn Academic Recognition Banquet on May 6.
