Campuses Host Final Signing Days For Student Athletes

May 23, 2022 - With just a week remaining in the school year, Comal ISD high school campuses hosted final signing days for a dozen student athletes who signed letters of intent to play the sport of their choice at the collegiate level.

They were surrounded by family, teammates, coaches and friends who celebrated this milestone with balloons, hugs, handshakes and lots of photos. These celebrations represent a culmination of years of early morning and late-night practices, lessons, wins and losses.

Among those celebrating were two sets of twins who signed letters to play the same sport as their siblings at the same universities. Sisters from Canyon High School, Bianca and Isabella Ruiz will be playing soccer at Northumbria University Newcastle in England; and brothers, Cade and Wyatt Hansen, from Smithson Valley High School will play baseball at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Two additional student-athletes from CHS signed letters including Jaiden Conrad who will play soccer at Texas Lutheran University; and Quade Woods who will play golf at Concordia University Texas.

From Canyon Lake High School, Emma Lane will play softball at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.

From Davenport High School, Kiana van Haaren will run track for the University of Northern Colorado.

Four additional student-athletes from SVHS signed letters including Morgan Abbott to play basketball at McMurry University, Myla Castillo to run track at St. Edward's University, Jake Deviney to run track at Hardin-Simmons University and Malachi Lane to play football at Louisiana State University.

Congratulations!
